For more than a decade, Nicholas Steinhauer has served Greater St. Louis as a first responder, answering the calls no one wants to make and stepping into homes during the most vulnerable moments of people’s lives. He has witnessed tragedy, loss, chaos, and heartache, and carried the same question from scene to scene: What happens to families when we leave? That question became personal when he lost a loved one and found himself responsible for the painful aftermath alone. Faced with sorting through cherished belongings, memories, and biohazards while grieving, he experienced firsthand just how isolating and overwhelming those moments can be. Without guidance, support, or direction, even the strongest families can feel abandoned.
That experience became the driving force behind Code Three Trauma Clean. Nicholas knew families deserved compassion, honesty, and someone who understands both the emotional toll and the physical realities of trauma. He built a company staffed entirely by current and former first responders, people who carry duty in their bones and community in their hearts. Today, Nicholas continues his service not only by responding to emergencies, but by walking beside people after the sirens fade. For Nicholas, Code Three Trauma Clean is more than a business. It is his promise to the community he calls home: no one should have to face the aftermath alone.
